B.I.G

Born: May 21, 1972 - Brooklyn, New York
Given Name: Christopher Wallace

Interesting Facts:

B.I.G. stands for "Business Instead of Game". Biggie attended the same Brooklyn high school as Jay-z and Busta Rhymes. Biggie's first recording deal was with Uptown Records in 1993. He was the father of three children - two daughters and one son. Before he began hustling he was an A - student with aspirations of being a dentist.

He made appearances on the television shows New York Undercover (along with M.C. Lyte and Sticky Fingerz) and Martin. In both roles, he played himself. He worked with the King of pop, Michael Jackson, on HIStory - Past Present & Future Book 1. The track was titled "This Time Around". His clothing line, Brooklyn Mint, was launched in 1996. He also had plans to open a fast food chain called "Big Poppa's".

His posthumous album, Life After Death, is certified Diamond. This means it sold more than 10 million copies, Biggie was half Jamaican & half African-American.

Christopher Wallace, 24, otherwise known as Notorious B.I.G., 'Biggie Smalls' or 'Biggie', a New York City drug dealer turned rapper, was killed in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997, after leaving a party that was celebrating the 11th Annual Soul Train Music Awards. Some suspected Death Row records founder, Marion 'Suge' Knight, and a former police officer, David Mack were behind the killing. No one has been arrested in the case.
