Well things have been real busy for me, I have taken on even more work now with a new contract for a UK Office Furniture Company and have now opened my own company doing internet marketing which I have nearly finished the website for (Eva SEO UK). My part time job is going great and the automotive blog I made (Vans,Cars and Leasing) is comming along great now.

Advertising photography is an extension of photography used to promote a product, place or person. Generally what we do when we take a snapshot of our near-and-dear is just ask them to smile and we click with any handy camera. Then we get the captured picture printed. That is it. No bother, no sweat. It does not matter how the person looks or what pose he or she takes because this photo will be kept in personal album to be seen by family members and friends. But it is not this easy when one is an advertising photographer and advertising photography is serious business.

To be an advertising photographer, along with being experienced photographer, one needs to understand advertising as a whole. One has to understand the product to be advertised and the target audience. Keeping all this in mind, the advertising photographer takes pictures of object using angles suitable for the product to be launched. If the advertisement involves a person or model, then the model should express some kind of emotion associated with the product. The advertising photographer should be in a position to encourage the model to give the correct pose and expression, and to do so the advertising photographer should himself be knowledgeable about the world of advertising and marketing.

As it is clear, advertising photography is not as simple as it looks because it involves that part of photography which deals with emotions and professionalism and hence it is not everyone's cup of tea. The advertising photographer should have vast experience in the field of photography and he must be well-versed with the latest equipment required in this profession.

A simple camera like hold-and-click one or other simple equipment will do for taking simple photograph, but if one wants to be an established advertising photographer, one should possess latest camera with wide applications. One must know the technical aspects of the latest camera and other photography equipment so as to extract maximum from it. As advertising photography may involve different places like taking snapshots of landscapes, natural places, or it may involve advertising a product which has to be projected in different colors, one must be familiar with various angles of the camera, aperture, shutter speed, depth of the field, light pattern, focus point, ISO speed, types of lens and their focal length, sensitivity, etc. to get the best picture so as to enhance the effect of the product or person in the advertisement.

In the end, it can be said that advertising photography is niche photography and it is different than hobby photography though an advertising photographer can have photography as his or her hobby. This category of photography requires one to understand human emotions very well and one needs to understand product marketing too as this involves people and product which are to be marketed to certain category of consumer and the launch of the product is to entice prospective consumer to go for the product or service based on the photograph or picture.
